All the outer planets relate to the collective (un)conscience ~ Uranus ~ global conscience, Neptune ~ the global psyche , and Pluto ~ global transformation. They play a large role in mundane events, especially terrorism ~Uranus is the sudden, unexpected aspect of it, Neptune is the deceptive aspect and Pluto is the violence and total destruction.
The Outer planets are generational. Because they stay in a sign for so many years, they say a lot about the people born in those times.
While Jupiter expands the mind, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto emphasize the area/experience. Natally, they can define innate behaviors: Uranus ~ instability, Neptune ~ escapism, and Pluto ~ crisis/obsession. However, when they transit your natal chart, they bring about significant events depending on the sign & house, and watch out when they hit a natal planet!
Mercury, Uranus and Neptune also contribute to the Media ~ Mercury being communication & transportation (airwaves); Uranus, the inventive side of technology and Neptune the glamorous side ~ movies, and film ~ creating illusions/fantasy ~ not actual reality.
Uranus ~ The higher Octave of Mercury
The Unexpected
Uranus rotates on its equator giving it an irregular orbit. It turns the opposite direction of the other planets, therefore it rules unpredictability, erratic and sporadic behavior. Uranus is considered the revolutionary, the maverick, the rebel of the Zodiac. It represents the unique and different, the unusual, the unconventional/outer fringe, eccentricity. It’s interesting, exciting, independent, enterprising, uninhibited, inventive, and illuminating as in mental break through ( Mercury) ~ Lightening! and the lightening mind.
Uranus rules technology (computers) & governs electricity, alchemy and inventiveness ~ the mad scientist!
Uranus is also new age (astrology); mental intuition ~ suddenly revelations. The Universal mind lends itself to humanitarianism, politics, global ideas & social reform.
Mercury is neutral, Uranus is platonic, friendly ~ tolerates all walks of life.
Uranus represents the unusual/unordinary ~ phenomena’s ~ UFO’s.
It can be exciting, thrilling, spontaneous & liberating, but also prone to sudden change & disruption. It rules Earthquakes and Explosions.
Uranus is abrupt & can create uneasiness, anxiety, irritability, and insanity.
It can be ‘love at 1st sight, magnetism or infatuation.
Uranus was discovered in 1781, coinciding with the Industrial Revolution of the late 1700s & early 1800s; the American (1776) & French (1789-1799) Revolutions; 1775 The Revolutionary War; Benjamin Franklin, 1706-1790 ~ his kite / electrical experiments around 1752. ( He also invented bifocals).
Thomas Edison was an Aquarian-2/11/1847. Of all things he invented the light bulb!
84-90 yr cycle; approximately 7-10 yrs in each sign.
NEPTUNE ~ The higher octave of Venus
The Nebulous
Neptune can feel heaven like ~ idealistic, illusionary, dreamy, fantasising. It creates confusion because you’re not seeing things clearly but through ‘rose colored glasses’. It can seem easy going like Venus but you have to be careful not to get carried away or lead astray.
Where Venus is beauty, Neptune is charisma, glamour, magnetism, and star quality. Both Venus & Neptune indicate creativity & talent, but Neptune ‘kicks it up a notch’~ poetry, artistry, musical & dance ability.
Venus is romance, Neptune is intimacy. It’s very seductive but can also be deceptive. Delusions, dissolving, and escaping are all Neptune qualities as it clouds reality. Therefore it can create “issues” due to a lack of motivation or a false sense of security. An unwillingness to deal with the mundane matters of life and/or extreme passivity can lead to depression. Neptune is also addictions. It rules drugs ~ recreational & pharmaceutical, chemicals, oils, gases & perfumes.
It’s sensitive to it’s environment ~ impressionable, vulnerable, highly intuitive ~ lends to ‘psychic’ ability and clairvoyance. It can take you to the ‘astral plane’ either through drugs or meditation. Neptune is spirituality in it’s highest form and can be global bonding of the Universal soul.
Neptune also rules water ~ think King Neptune! ~ Oceans, lakes, streams, fountains etc., therefore it governs floods & tsunamis.
Neptune was discovered in 1846, coinciding with the invention of photography, 1839, (creating illusions) and the Gold Rush of 1849 (streams, the allure of money).
Thomas Edison was born in 1847 & also invented the phonograph, & a contraption called the kinetoscope, a fore runner to the movie camera.
Alexander Graham Bell, born 3/3/1847 ~ a Pisces ruled by Neptune!, also invented the microphone.
Approx. 171-180 yr cycle; roughly 12 yrs in each sign.
PLUTO ~ The higher octave of Mars
The Transformer
Pluto rules death & rebirth ~ the Pheonix rising out of the ashes! It completely destroys whatever is not working ~ annihilates it ~ but recreates something entirely new. It’s irreversible change.
Pluto is super intense and loves to create drama! It can be fanaticism.
It governs purging and eliminating ~ the bowels. It is associated with the Underground ~ literally, the bowels of the earth (sewars) and figuratively, the Mob/Mafia. Pluto penetrates way below the surface; it’s darkness, hidden things, privacy; probing and
surpasses all forms of intuition. You can relate Pluto to x-rays, ‘Psycho’ therapy, or black magic, voodoo, or devil worship.
Where Mars is aggression, Pluto is power. Where Mars is assertion, Pluto is control. It can also be violence if it’s energies are mishandled, such as rape, or murder ~ an abuse of power such as dictatorship.
Mars & Pluto both relate to sexuality and passion but Pluto is desire in all forms. It can be very disruptive therefore it governs explosions and eruptions ~ volcanoes.
Pluto was Discovered in 1930, coinciding with the discovery of Nuclear power!!; The rise of the Mafia in the 1920’s and the stock market crash of 1929, which led to the Great Depression of the 1930s; Adolph Hitler & his rise to power. Freud & Jung ~ psychology.
It’s orbit is so irregular that it spends a different amount of time in each sign depending on it’s proximity to Earth. Because it’s so far away, though, it’s shortest transit through a sign, will still be decades.
